I know that this info is here somewhere and I have searched to no avail. Simple question, what is the best / prefered method to cut pen tubes from the 10" tubes? I'm pretty sure that I am not the first to try this.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Charles,
I do this a lot using my sliding miter saw. Of course I've installed a plywood top and a hardwood rear fence on the saw so that I have a zero clearance table slot for the blade. Cuts no problem as long as you go slow and allow the saw to ramp up to full speed before making the cut.

I use a band saw and cut them a little long, then clean up the ends and bring it to size with my pen mill. I use a countersink bit very lightly by hand to clean up the inside burr and sandpaper for the outside burr
