I understand that some people are allergic to Cocobolo. Will there be any allergic reactions after applying a finish? Would it seal the allergens in, or just cover them up?

That probably makes no sense. It's been a long day at school.

I suspect that the answer depends more on the person than on the wood. People who are violently allergic may react to woods that are sealed well enough to avoid a problem with people with milder allergies.

If you thoroughly seal the Cocobolo you won't be exposed to the allergen.

If you use a CA finish, I'd hope you weren't allergic to CA.

It's mainly the sanding dust which causes the allergic reaction. Being that the pen is finished and little if any surface of the pen is not sealed(I'm thinking of the ends)I think the chances of a reaction is very small.
