I just got a few of these from Woodcraft... the instructions left me wondering if I was reading it right...

Please take a look at the drawing I just did and let me know if I read this right, or??

Marc, I haven't done one of the clicks, but that's the same as for the American flat top. Are you supposed to take the wood off all the way down to the tube??

I just finished up the cap of one of those, yes you do take it down to the tube- I take the part toward the tailstock (only because I align the blanks with the cap on the headstock), and I like the extra room to swing my tools on the end I need to work the most. I hate bumping the brass nut with my skew when I work the nib end...

And the Berea instructions say 1-3/4" from the clip end of the cap.

I personally find Berea's Instructions better than Woodcraft's. Try these:
