Chinese Elm Bowl. Around 9" (22cm) across, finished with Bush Oil and Polyurethane. Rough turned in Santa Ynez while on vacation and final turned back home once dry.
Thanks Derek, I do apply the poly on the lathe. I had applied the penetrating oil before heading out on a 3 week business trip so it was well cured by the time I got back. I gave it a good scrub with mineral spirits then applied the wipe on poly with the piece held in a vacuum chuck at low speed.
Pitoon - the dry time was a few hours per coat, I typically put on one coat before work, and one when I got home every day. I tended to alternate sides each time so that I was vacuum chucking it on a cured face.
