About two years ago, my Grandson asked me to make him an all black, cigar box guitar. I started it and then got sidetracked with other projects. I dug it out this past week and been rushing to finis it so I could take it to him the end of this month. Been a long time since I've made one of these, it was fun to get back into it. This is not "all black, but close. I'm going to let my son add the strings and tune it, ht knows more about that than me.

That is a really nice piece. Do these guitars sound anything like the "normal" guitars?

I have never heard one played before and always have been curious.

I don't know how to play, but I do know that some do, some don't. Really depends on the maker and player and a person's taste. Here are hundreds of videos of CBG people have made and play. I like some of the sounds but not all.

Videos - Cigar Box Nation

Then there are the professionals that play them, but they are actually set up like a real guitar. All the pickup and 6 string, etc.
