casting flies.....for fishermen

hey gang.....does anyone on here cast their own flies? i can't see how you get them not to clump/gather when it comes to feathers and stuff. i have a friend that wants a couple of her dad's cast.....for christmas gifts.

Couldn't you just glue them flat on the tube as you would a dried, pressed flower and then cast?

pirate....you do these stoppers? the one i bought from AZ basically had 3 pours.....color on the bottom, a layer of clear and the fly is set afloat on it before it sets....then a third layer of clear on top of the.....and you tell me that all the feather and their bits will fan out and not clump? wow, freakin, wow.......
oh great....NOW i have to get more PR

sure dude....if you pull a feather out of water it all sticks together....put back in the water and it fans out. kind'a the same principle.....I think.

I don't have my vacuum motor set up, so it's just pressure. I get the occasional tiny bubble or 2. but with my flies, I really don't mind it.
