I know there is an explanation about why Alumilite needs pressure but I can't find it. Can someone either point me to the big explanation?

Not sure about the thread but it needs pressure to crush the bubbles that form while it cures. You can vacuum it as well prior to mixing but then you need to stir the two parts and color in very slowly to minimize the amount of air you reintroduce.

Can you vibrate the bubbles out?
Probably not enough time to do this as Alumilite starts to gel in about 7 minutes.
Also, from what I have observed with Alumilite, as it cures, it also creates microbubbles which will make your cast look like foam.
