This is a remanufactured fountain pen. Rather than being based around a woodturning kit, it's a modified commercial pen. The wood was bored and cut to fit over the original pen for a friend affected by arthritis. Hopefully she can write more comfortably now!





It is actually grain matched, but whatever way the flash hits it, the centre piece looks off.

Inside the original cap was a loose-fitting plastic cap with an internal flange. This flange clips over the flange of the nib of the pen. I cut it out and glued it into the new cap. I have to say, it is potentially the weak point in this pen. I have the owner's assurance that she'll shout at me if the lid doesn't clip on!
