well at a whopping 9.5 " its big on a midi lathe with a 10" swing

just an excuse to spend a couple evenings in the shop. its a piece of walnut i got from a customer. i've been cutting some pen blanks up as well.

Black Walnut is a favorite of mine.

Was going to cut up a log today, but the 'list' from the boss didn't include that chore of things to do.....errr.


BTW, how deep is that turning?
And the finish used?

the blank was about 1"- 1.5" thick although tht bottom is more curved than the inside and is finished with parafin wax
