<br />If you are using a finish that sits on top of the wood, lacquer, poly, shellac, etc. you can fill the pores with that.

Okay using Crystal coat and Hut two part system.

Will try

Crystal Coat and the Hut polish will not last at all!

Go to Walmart or Lowe's and get Deft Sanding Sealer and Deft Gloss.

Wet sand with either lacquer or shellac. Put the finish on and sand with 220 grit while it is still wet. The slurry will fill the grain. This is doing the same thing as a sanding sealer, the only difference is that the grain will be filled with fine wood dust rather than some foreign substance.

I use mylands friction polish. It absorbs well and builds well. The down side is it takes at least a week to cure. I like to let it sit longer if possible. Also don't wax the finish for at least a week.

I began using Myland's because it sets up almost instantly. [:0]
