Best mechanisms?

I'm looking for some suggestions as to what peppermill and/or salt grinder mechanisms are the best and from which supplier could i find them? I need to make some for the holidays as gifts for family and want the best possible mechanisms I can buy but quite honestly have no clue what that is. Any help at all is greatly appreciated

Exotic Blanks sells pepper mill mechanisms that are used in the restaurant industry. He also has an instruction sheet that is easy to understand.

I only use Crushgrind mechanisms these days, best on the market IMHO. No nob at the top to worry about and an easy ceramic adjustable grind mechanism.

I agree with Dai Sensei... I like the design flexibility of the crush/grind, plus you can use the same mechanism for salt or pepper...

They're sold through most of our catalogs... PSI, CSUSA, Packardwoods, etc... but the best place I've found is Crushgrind.US... link here

they're all made by the same mfgr in Denmark and I think he's the direct distributor... they're out of Canada, but shipping has been quick and reasonable.
