Some people call this Texas Ironwood, I was always told it was Ebony. What ever it's pretty hard heavy wood.

Great job! That is a fantastic buckle. But it would seem to be on the small side for a Texan :wink:

Yes, small for a TEXAS buckle

The log that this came from was only about 5" in dia. I won it in a raffle years ago,and just came across it in all my wood that I keep for good (too good to use now). It's about 4"X3" so it's not too small for a Texas buckle.

Ah, that must be a wide belt then. I thought that might be what they call a training buckle. :biggrin:
