The motor on my Jet BS lost all it's smoke last week.

I got a great price on a replacement motor and in my excitement neglected to check the speed. The old motor was 1725 and this is 3450.

Drive pulley is 2.5" and the BS pulley is 6".

The smallest pulley I can find is 2" which means I would need about 10" for the pulley on the saw and that would be too large.

If I could get a 1.5" pulley I could probably use a 7" pulley.

I know BS's generally run about 660 fpm, would 800 be too fast?

Looking for suggestions and returning the motor is an acceptable suggestion. (But it was a great price.)

There is a shop here that specializes in pulleys. (they do a lot of specialized things for the boating industry).

I need 3 pieces of information from the Jet. Shaft diameter, key type, and motor mount frame style. If it is 5/8 shaft, woodruff key, Jimky may have a 1 inch pulley laying around, but for some reason he always asks me for the motor mounting type.

I assume you mean the motor as opposed to the saw.

5/8" shaft
The key is 3/16" square (fits in a 3/16" slot) about 1.25 long.
It's a 56 frame. Looks like a rectangle with chocks on each side, slots for the bolts.
