Stopped at Woodcraft a few days ago. They had a bin full of pen blanks. Wife and I went through them and got ten, buck a piece. Photo of the bamboo blanks showing the "laminated" sections. One is at a right angle to the main body of the blank. I turned one for a Wall Street III pen. It turned OK but the cross-ways part had two small chips. Odd but one side turned it off but the other side shows as a thin strip with two chips. If I turn the other two, it will be a smaller pen requiring a smaller blank.

I've had my share of making bamboo pens and decided it wasn't something that I enjoyed turning. Best of luck!

I bought a bamboo cutting board at Ikea a year or so ago figuring I could cut it up in different directions to see what luck I might have turning a pen. Still in the shop uncut. 🤷‍♂️
