I took a break from pen turning to make these much needed Adirondack chairs. This is the Jake's Chair design. I am a big guy and these are the most comfortable chairs I have sat in. I really like the design. Not too hard to make for a novice like me. I chose Cypress wood for the material and finished them with Penofin which is basically Brazillian Rosewood oil. It is almost dummy proof. You have to really wipe off the excess though as it will sit on the surface if not wiped thoroughly.

Here are the pics. It was fun!

Thanks guys. The money I made from pens outfitted my shop enough to make these a little easier. I was pretty nervous because it was my first big furniture build. Now I wan to try a table. :)

Those are really nice... I've been threatening to make a couple of those someday... I keep telling my wife I can make them so she won't spend my money on someone else's wood work.... one day she may catch on to my ploy..:biggrin:
