These two were made from a couple of imported lamps I picked up at Hobby Lobby.... the first is turned from Green Heart Poplar and has the glass font/reservoir imbedded in the turning.... I cut the log at just below the bead and created a lidded box effect, set the font into the base, then made a hole in the top portion for the neck to come through and then glued it all back together.... the turning is about 7" high, about 6" dia and the overall height of the lamp is about 16"... finished in a gloss polyurethane.
The second is a slightly smaller chimney that I only embedded the font into the top of the turning... then glued it in place with a 2 part epoxy and finished with same gloss poly.... the Bradford Pear wood base is about 7" tall by 5 1/2" dia and overall height about 16".... these are regular oil lamps.
