Dunno if anyone has done this before, but how about doorstoppers? My house is an old Victorian, and nearly all the interior doors have these little buggers right next to them. Pardon the dirt, we're remodeling!

Most Victorian molding is pretty dark, so a nice light colored wood might be a nice change.

Even for more recent houses, a nice doorstop might be a good looking accent... and it'd obviously be good at protecting the walls, too!

Good idea......

If you're going to put them on the newer homes and don't put them on the base board (if it's big enough).....make sure you got a stud behind the sheet rock. If not, it will make a nice round hole for you real quick! :)

I have actually made one a few months ago. It was strictly utilitarian made from pine. It was and still is Homely but functionial.
