Question of the hour: is there a significant difference in Alumilite resin density at varying temperatures? Today I cast a slab that came out short by an right of an inch. I did the math, and I SHOULD have cast 14 oz for my slab (5.625"W x 6.000"L x 0.750"H x 0.554oz/ci). In reality, I cast 13 oz of resin. As expected, the slab came out short at 0.625"H which equals a theoretical difference of 2.33 oz. of resin. Not only was the slab short, but it also shrank about an eighth of an inch away from each side making a slab that was 5.375"W x 5.750"L x 0.625"H which is a theoretical usage of 10.70 oz of resin.

At this rate, I suppose I should be using 17 oz for my mold. Is anyone else seeing anything like this?? P.S. It's Alumilite Clear.

Thanks!
