Alternative to "J" bit?

Hi all.

Just ordered a "J" bit from Berea. My mom, who now lives with us and is suffering from dementia, threw it away.

Is there an alternative bit I can use or do I have to order another?

In most cases a 7mm bit can replace a "j" bit.

I use a 7mm for my razor kits that call for a "J" and it works fine.

According to my handy dandy reference chart, a J is 0.277 which is 7.04mm.

On acrylics, I use a "I", to get more snug fit, rather than a 7mm or J bit for 7mm pen kits. A few years ago I bought a set of machinists bits that include lettered and numbered (0, 1, 2 ...) in addtion to fractional.

Really great when you want to go up or down a tiny amount from your standard Imperial or Metric sizes.

Hey, thanks for the tip on using the "I" on Acrylics. Guess I need to buy some more bits.

If you have a 9/32 it's 0.281 inch, which can work as well.

It has 99.95% of all the bits you'll need (doesn't have those one or two we need over 1/2")
