Spent a lot of time this week on a cool tube on cast, cast turned out great, did one of my best turning jobs, assembled the pen wrong and cracked the cast when trying to disassemble. Memo to self- read the freaking instructions. Aargh!

Done that more than a few times, especially when I started turning rollerballs. I still do it even after reading the instructions. I have a nice collection of "orphaned" barrels (tops with no bottoms and bottoms with no tops). I was able to salvage some and make some real nice pens with crushed turquoise stone as a filler for the cracks or chips. I share your frustration though.
