A fellow wood turner friend is having a birthday/wedding anniversary this month so I thought I'd make them a gift even though they said "No gifts" Who am I to listen. This was a joint effort with another friend. He turned the platter and I did the goblets.

The woods used are cherry on the platter, base of the goblets and the Celtic knot. The stem for the goblet is African Blackwood. The finish on the goblets is General Finishes Woodturners Finish. The finish on the platter is General Finishes Arm-R-Seal.

I was concerned with the knot being a weak spot so it was drilled out and reinforced with a dowel rod.

Nice, often thought I would like to try the wine glasses but not being a drinker it has been on the back burner but the Celtic knot has got me thinking they might sell pretty fast with similar embellishments.

Oh and BTW cherry is one of my favorite woods to turn.
