Your analysis is not quite correct. While it is true that the numbers 1 and 100 each have a 50% chance of winning, that doesn't mean that the "owner" of either of those has a 50% chance of winning. As I understand the rules more than one pereson can select a given number and should that number win, I assume a random selection would be made from all of the folks who chose the number. Therefore, it is quite possible that the chances of winning with either of those two numbers is a lot less than 50%.
