Has anyone used an electric hot iron transfer tool like Penn State sells? It says you can transfer text on pens with it but I wouldn't think it would be very durable.

This topic comes up quite often and I've never read where anyone has ever given the transfer wand from PSI a good report.

The pring powder from copy machines (not laser copier, but the ones that use powder) can be released with heat or acetone. I've played with it but the success rate is not that great. When it does work I have sealed it under the CA finish. But, it like stabilizing pen blanks at home...not worth my time. Send'em to Steve White to be stabilized by a professional and send pens to Ken Nelson to be engraved. Then I can spend that time making another pen. But, to each his own.
Do a good turn daily!
