I just want to thank everyone here for all the info. Because of all of you I have finally gotten the courage to do a ca finish. I have to say I'm really impressed with it. The Mrs. (and biggest critic) loves it. I started doing 6-10 coats of thin ca. , but was ending up with white spots where the wood had a small void. Tonight I used medium ca and only did 4 coats and there were no white spots after final sanding. Look for pictures soon!

Timothy, we'll be looking for the pictures because without pictures it never happened!!

Michael is right on the fumes! If you don't have a dust collector yet, use a small fan to blow the fumes away.
