I watched the video. He is right that the tricks have changed. not much reason to even have the thing spinning anymore. I saw a couple of world class yo-yo performers years ago when you still had to keep the yo in the yo-yo, to be honest I was much more impressed with that then what they are doing now.

Kind of cool, but I agree with Daniel, maybe it's just because I'm a cranky old man, but it seems like the older Yo Yo tricks were more challenging.

True the "new" yo-yo has kind of departed from what we remember as kids.
I found my old coca-cola yo-yo i won in a competition when i was around 10!
Walk the dog, rock the cradle and around the world were all cool tricks.
Seems that if the yo-yo can spin for 20 minutes you would get bored of doing the same thing!

My old guy still has the wood dowel that holds the plastic halves together!!

Oh well, don't stand in the way of progress!!

The Smothers brother was Amazing...

Jeff - You mentioned spending the time to get the knots out of the string

I would be more concerned about the multiple ice bags needed for the knots on my head!

Andrew Thanks for sharing!
My 11 year loved it.
I might have to try and make one of those High tech yo-yo's now.
