This is my first attempt at swirling segments
I used this tutorial: http://content.penturners.org/articles/2006/SwirlingSegments.pdf. Thanks UKpenturner!
I learned that you should use CA when gluing up segments and watch your band saw blade deflection when cutting (cut slow). This is good practice for a novice like myself. The lighter wood is imbuia teak and the darker is cherry jatoba with a CA finish.
Please share your opinions and or expierences with this type of segmenting. Thanks for looking.:)

Beautiful pens!

I wanted to look at the artical but that link to the guide does not work for me.

Jim, I like your idea on your pen it looks great. I am not sure what happened to your photo, but I am sure it does not do your pen justice. What kind of band saw were you using and who fast were you cutting your wood? Like my old shop teacher said, " Let the tool do the wook." Thank you your post and look forward to you next creation. Happy Turning! [^]
