I received this blank back in March and finally got around to turning it. Added a custom centerband for a little break up of the stripes. All in all it turned easy and made a nice little pen.

Thanks for looking!

Know anybody who is a referree? Or an umpire??

Or just someone who wants a pen that won't be easily lost!!!

Nice look, Eric!!

WOW What a "Striking" pen:wink: I agree with Toni that solid black sets it off. I wanted to do a Jr. Gent. 2 for my son who coaches my granddaughters softball team, Thayer do not have the most honest umpires. Great job.

I tend to shy away from stripes just because I can't easilly visualize them looking good on a pen. However, the sight of that pen made me think, "WOW!". Then, "tuxedo".

I also agree that the center band makes it. That and probably the fact that the stripes are not too thick.

It also brought back memories of being a human research subject (remind me some time if you want to hear the story).

That pen is sharp.

Thanks all! I'm really glad I took the time and effort to get the black in there.

David, your story sounds intriguing. Not sure how stripes tie into being a research subject, but I'm all ears.

I must be the only one here with a checkered past. My first thought was about the 'cross bar hotel' and the required clothing there! After my first irrational fears were put to rest, that is one strikingly beautiful pen. Congratulations.

Ouch...reminds me of the puzzle me and the kids tried to put together...It was a herd of Zebras! Nice looking pen and love the center band...Black enamel hardware would have went well with the stripes and center band.
