Hey everyone, its been a while since ive been on here, but havent forgotten about you guys. Yesterday I lost my best friend. Not the human kind, but my best friend from a different species. He was my everything, he made my heart smile and made my world go round when I needed it the most. He was always happy to see me and show me the same love that I showed him. He kept me warm at night, and smiling in the day. Today my heart hurts. He will be missed more than he will ever know. He was my boy and I loved him so. You will always be my first pet and I will always love you just the same.

Are pets are more than friends to us, they are family members true and true. They ask nothing more than a little food, water, a place to sleep, and a little pet every now and than, and give back true love and devotion in return. I know the feelings you are having after just putting down one of ours last month. Cherish the memorys of all the great times you spent together. Sorry !! Jim S

Sorry to hear.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Justin, so very sorry to hear of your great loss. No words can describe the feelings of love or loss of a special pet. They are a member of your family and mean more than anyone else can ever know. Stay strong.

Justin, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel as I lost mine just three weeks ago after 17 years. But remember you will meet again.

Hi Justin, So sorry to hear of the loss of your best friend. I know the feeling we just loss one of our cats (she was 16 years old) last week.
Our pets do feel like family especially when they have been with us for so long.

Dogs are the best, I like them more than people some times. I have been blessed to have 4 great dogs in my my life and one...well she tried. To this day, it is very hard not to compare them...this one did this better than that one, etc etc....The last two times I waited for 6 or 7 months and then bought another dog...it does fill the hole in your heart somewhat. Mostly because they were all puppies and you are to busy to mourn very much. Any one that has truly loved their dogs can mourn with you....it is horrible. You will never forget, but it does get better. My condolences..

So sorry to hear of the lost of your friend. I hope that memories of your time together will help get you through this sad time. He'll always be with you...in your heart and watching over you waiting for you to join him again. :) Hugs.

Sorry for the loss your companion. Here is a comfort for you:
I have discovered that every time a dog leaves me they take a piece of my heart with them, and every time a new dog comes into my life, they gift me with a piece of their heart. I can only hope that I if I live long enough, all the pieces of my heart will be "dog" and I will be as loving and giving as they are.

My wife and I have been married 50+ years and in that time we have lost several dogs and with each one we swore we would not have another, but... there this little long haired Chihuahua trying to climb over my shoulder to get into my lap, love her to pieces, nuff said I guess except to say that I understand your feelings.

So sorry for your loss. I have been through this several times and it is never easy. It sounds like your life was enriched by your friend and I am sure that your heart is broken. I hope that your memories will help you with your pain. Time is a good healer and sometimes, at least for me, another dog has helped ease the loss.

Justin, I'm sorry to be reading about your loss, I'm almost in tears remembering the loss of one of mine little buddies while reading this. Hang in there bud, it will eventually get better.

Thank you. He had the most beautiful and loving eyes. They exuded so much love, you could just feel it. I feel him daily and while it brings a tear to my eye over his lose, it also brings a smile to my face over his memories.

Sorry about your companion, memories will stay with us forever so he is not totally gone. Love the picture with the hat
