Hmmmm....I remember shooting when all I had was the bow (recurved) and the arrows. No sights, no balances and none of all that other stuff hanging on the bow, which I don't even have a clue as to what it is or what it does....

I also remember when Howard Hill did everything with a long bow - as I recall he thought the recurved was too hard to shoot accurately.

All I shoot is long bows, got a howard hill, Northern mist, and a Lynn Harrelson recurve,
Shot wheele bows for a few years, but nothing like making your own arrows, fletching arm guards, back quivers, then doing the leather work on it, Had to drop down from 70 lbs after surgery, but my 45pounders shoots right thru them no problem, its like making pens you get addicted to it,last and best year in a bow hunting club, ended up with 22deer, Gave most of them to people in church , i hunted 2 month just coming home for cloths wash and stuff, some one wanted on i got it and put it in the mennanites deer processor for them, we always averaged 5 for our self, you would be suprised how many thanks you get for feed the hungry, you can shoot a deer in alabama and donate to the processor to give to feed the hungry, It also helps to pay a little if you can on the procesing, still end up with about 3-5 deer per year from what i kill, which is usually only one or two now being disabled, but you can get on the waitinglist for people who dont pick up there deer meat and all you have to do is go pay for it and its yours, you cant pick out what you want ,what ever the customer wanted is what you get, we havent bought hamburger in years, had some tenderloin the other night with cajun seasoning, just a few minutes on one side and then theother, makes it med rare, um um good cant wait till october
