I did it! Finaly I found the perfect CA/BLO finish! Yes I did. Oh, I stole almost all of it from others here on IAP, but the important part has never been mentioned, to the best of my knowledge. The applicator must be the brown napkins from Toco Bell. Apply BLO to the napkin, then to the blank. Two or three drops of thin CA on the BLO applied in three coats to the blank rubbed briskly too and fro. Then three layers of medium CA on BLO briskly applied to the blank rubbed the similar way. Keep rubbing until the stink diminishes. Wasla, slick finish needs minimal sanding. Now for the difference. Humidity must be in the 85 to 100 percent range with a raging thunder storm going on outside. The shop door must be open to help with air exchange. Now for all the guys on the plains, that means a light sprinkle to you. I've seen some of your thunder storms and I do not care to see another. Oh, I almost forgot the most important part, be sure to have the yellow socks on.:wink::smile::party:
OOPS, I forgot, no pictures yet. When I figure out how, they will come. Sorry!

Guys have known about the Taco Bell trick for years. The finish is great...the problem is that no one can stand the smell from the outgassing afterward. LOL. Yeah, I know the joke stinks.

Charles I think you have truly discovered the trick of a perfect BLO/CA finish, it's all a magical, mystica, approach with a zen theme, while chanting Georgian monk chants, works for me every time. LOL Actually though the Napkins from Taco Bell are made from recycled paper, so the wood fiber or cellulose content could in truth have some effect on the curing of the CA. but I have better luck wearing Argyle socks.

"News Flash" Taco Bell just announced unforseen mysterious knapkin shortage at all their stores across the US. Suspected terriosts using the knapkins for "OTHER" uses. Details at 9:00.
