There is nothing special in technics or design.

I have made that thumbdrive special for guide, so chose simple and easy design, but interesting wood.

Perhaps someone could clarify for me. The Pins shown in the case appear to be like knife pins or rivits holding things together are those drilled through the electronics? What holds the flash drive to the Brass? Do you glue/epoxy the brass to the wood?

I think that is for the indicator light. That light that flashes when the drive is transfering data.

Perhaps the front is for the light and the back a lanyard ...ok that will explain that part. Good point.

You are right. One holle/river is a LED.

Its position depends from position of LED on circut board. Hole not trough electronics, it jut to LED.

On my earlier thumbdrives I drilled hole. Later - insert tube.

Second hole is for lanyard. It is just 1-1.5 mm (1/25") far from board edge.
Actually I make lanyard hole as design element. Thumbdrive looks much better with it. You may place lanyard hole on cap.

That's my first thumbdrive. No lanyard hole.

Second. With lanyard hole.

Double LED (double hole)/

Blue LED.

Backside LED in tube.
