I honestly thought wood pens would be more popular (sale wise) than the other materials such as Corain/acrylic. I personally prefer the look and feel of a wood pen vs the others. What are your preferences, and which are better volume sales/profits?

I make and sell by request. I've sold other material pens well over wood. I enjoy making both and have about 40 different wood types but the acrylic colors keeps me busy, not to mention feather, antler, and money pens.

From the people I have talked to about the pens I make. This what I get out of it.
Most men like wood pens
Most woman like the non wood (brighter colors)

Used to make wood pens exclusively. Now I offer both and customers gravitate towards 'plastic'. Give them what sells is my new outlook.

I don't turn pens, rather salvage local woods and sell blanks on eBay and occasionally here on IAP. I have a love affair with wood. I spent most of my working life as an Industrial/ Architectural modelmaker using primarily plastics in the construction. To me it has no warmth.

From what I've seen and heard, plastics outsell wood for most people. Myself, I use wood because I like working with it. I've met penmakers who hate turning acrylic, but that's what they do almost exclusively because it's what sells for them. Lucky for me, I don't need the money enough to spend time doing something I don't enjoy.
