Has anyone ever heard of Gaphucho wood. I got it in a box of blanks and wanted to do a wood type card on it but cannot Google it or fond a reference to it anywhere. I cannot remember who I got it from so I can't ask them for more info. Anything anyone might know about it and could tell me would be great. I haven't turned it yet but once I do I'll post a pic if I don't hear anything before that.
Thanks,
Russ

Many woods have multiple names. Many South American woods have up to thirty accepted 'official scientific' names. Scientists like to "discover" new species and name them after themselves. Identification is a mess.
But from the looks of what you posted, I'm sure it is genuine 'Dunno' wood. ;-)

I Googled for Gaphucho and got nothing also. Then, I dropped the first "h" to make it Gapucho. Google suggested an alternative spelling of "Capucho" which led to a reference to "Carapanauba". Apparently, these are among several common names for the same wood.
