Not sure how many went to the Indy Wood Workers Show yesterday or today, but we were disappointed. The show has been reduced in size since our last time in attendance (year before last) and some of the better vendors were definitely MIA.

We managed to pick up a couple of things - but nothing at really "great buys" as we have done in the past. We got a little bit off on the Timber Wolf saw blades (10% if you bought 3 blades) and we got a couple of anti-fatigue mats for in front of the lathes at $10 off (which still made them a costly $35 each although they are very thick and cushy.)

Certainly don't think it was worth the cost of the entry and parking if you weren't looking for anything specific - or if you were expecting some big savings. We just didn't see them.:frown::confused:

The best part of the whole day was getting to spend some more time talking shop with Ernie (EBorraga) and hitting Rockler where we saw WoodButcher and GoGo.:smile: It's always nice to catch up with friends. Now we just need to get time to get some turning time with em!!

Maybe some of the rest of you got there and got all the good buys yesterday

It has been a disapointment many years. It appears to be getting worse. I stopped going for a couple of years broke down and went a couple of years ago and haven't been back since. The price to park and get in to the show is to much.

So, I didn't miss much after all? Last year, I was going to meet up with Ron and, Mark (Bluzzcat) By the concession stand but, they had the show in a different building than the year before. Didn't see either of them. Bluzzcat hasn't been back since. Can't blame him as, he lives in Monroe county. Long drive to the fairgrounds from where he lives. Last year WAS indeed a disappointment from the year before. Fewer vendors.

Well Chuck there were hardly any vendors . Had a few good deals but nothing I really needed. The biggest crap was everyone selling pen blanks that were 5/8. CSUSA had only 2 or 3 bigger than that. But I guess the majority of the people only make slims?? My opinion is the show was horrible. But I had a great time talking shop with Mike and Linda over lunch. And we even went to Rockler afterwards. I'll see you guys this weekend when Chuck comes back to the coldness of winter. No more 75 degrees and sunshine. Instead 12 below and snow!!!

Hey Ernie - MAYBE if Chuck REALLY likes his buddies up here in good ole Indy - he'll bring the 75 degrees and sunshine TO US :island:

That would be awesome don't you think

Yep, gotta come up north to cool off Ernie!

Is this the traveling WoodWorker's show??? I have been going to the one that comes here for many many years and it has taken a huge nose dive. The price the vendors have to pay and the amount of potential customers or buyers is drastically reduced so they choose not to show. I will go again because i feel guilty not going. I will wander over to the Festool booth and do my drooling over there. I really do need to leave that credit card home because one of these days I will pull the trigger on that Kapex mitersaw and vac along with that random orbital sander they make. Boy how I would love to own them. My show is in Feb. Maybe by then we will have so much snow on the ground I can not get out the house. It sure is heading that way. Another storm coming Tues. Oh joy. Can't wait.

Hey John, I'm pretty sure it was the traveling woodworking show. Seemed like It was like 6 aisles in total. One aisle was nothing but the Peachtree Co. Seemed like alot of people were trying to sell gadgets for the router and bandsaw. Like dovetail templates you use on the router table. A few cool things but all in all was bad.

The show quit coming to Utah about 4 years ago. There was a good showing of companies but not any real good deals, at least to me anyway. Woodcraft had the best deals and they were from the local store franchise.
