I was given a few pieces of Walnut, actually the whole tree, along with an Osage Orange tree, this is one load, I'll get the other two loads when we get this cut, blocked and sealed.

Way to go, Ken. That is a haul for sure, in more ways than one. Congratulations on the find. Was it already felled or did you have to do it yourself?

Charles, Both trees have been down for some time, The Osage sapwood has all rotted off and the Walnut is still fairly wet, we blocked out about half of the first load, of the Walnut and a couple of sections of the Osage, the Osage was already cut into 18-20 inch pieces but it's still pretty damp, and we found a number of hidden nasties in the Osage, but Andrew want's to cut and dry some for pen blanks, I gave up turning bowls out of it, I got tired of therm coming out and hitting me.

That walnut looks pretty dry already.
Keith it's still pretty wet, I think it came down last spring when we had that wicked Tornado, it had one beautiful twin trunk section , should get some awesome bowls and stuff I hope.

That's a nice haul there. Shame the OO is cut that short, a 6 foot section of seasoned, straight grained trunk could be riven into a dozen or so really nice bow staves and you could still get all the pen blanks you could want.
