So this is my son's first Webelo race, we have placed before, 3rd overall was our best...last year he lost in a run off for 3rd and didn't place at all in the over all.

This car was 90/10 90 % him, 10% me, I did some of the band saw work and the drill press stuff, he did all the rest except for putting on the wheels.

We cracked it, brought it over to weigh in 2 oz light and crazy glued on the extra weight and the car back together after I split it drilling for the weight holes... (Rockler thick CA is the shizzle). It also has an amazing Sharpe paint job.

But it can RUN.

Lost one race and placed 2nd in the Webelo races, but then when 12/12 in the over all pack winner races. The one race he lost in the first runs, I swear he won, and folks around us said the same thing, but the electronics didn't agree. He beat the winning car head to head..so go figure and that car placed 6th in the overall.

So he's one proud little Weblo.

Congrats to you and your son. Our races are next week. Youngest is a Tiger cub (1st year running). We are hoping for a good run.

That is nice to hear, I got out of scouting because of the auto engineers in this area taking the kits in and doing them at work and having Generous Motors built $1,000 pinewood derby cars.
It is sad when the kids would complain that the first time they had seen the car was when daddy brought it out of the box at the races.
We had to change the rules, to only the kids would handle the cars on race days.
I wanted to change them so the kids would have to work on the cars at the meetings and so the parents got really upset. So I left scouting! It was getting to be like being the boss in adult day care, Or so a freind that ran a sports bar called his place.
It is nice to see that the kids get the chance to do it with dad or mom and have fun!
:clown:

great job our race is next weekend. My son has placed first place for three years in a row so be cool to see how he does this year.
