At the doctors office waiting to get my injections to my back. Hopefully they'll do something for me. Had to stop one of my meds due to bad side effects. Will check back later today about how it goes.

If it's like mine, you'll be a little sore for a day or so, but after that, you'll feel normal again. Mine didn't last, but hopefully this will work for you permanently. Good luck.

I have had surgery and the spinal injections both and neither one helped with the lower back pain. I went to the Spine and Nerve institute in Nashville and got 4 sets of Facet injections in the lower back and they made the back feel the best in years. I was able to go one full year without any follow up injections, then I got a whole new set of injections in December and it has been the same out come.

Good luck buddy! I hope your's work better than Tina's did! You may feel injection site pain for a while but if it works, it works good!

Call if you need to talk!

Good luck, I have had the L4-L5 taken out along with c7, multiple facet injections in 10 years, all kinds of pain blocks, nothing last more than a few weeks if any, Have to see som many doctors every 3-6 months, pain doc, heart doc, everytime they do a mri they find something new, hope you get better results

I hope they work. This surgery sucks. The only saving grace is I got to get out of a bunch of worthless meetings this week.

Jonathon and Shea,

You must be torn apart what with the babe due and anxiety with your back.

Trust the prayers you extended to Wilma and me that were effective now come into your lives from us.

Kind regards Peter and Wilma.

Jonathon, Good luck, I hope the shots do the trick, they worked for me, (a lot better than I realized) I've talked to a few guys that after loosing some weight, and remembering that they do have a bad back, like around L-4 and L-5, and were smarter than me have avoided surgery for several years
Best of luck, just lay still for 24 hrs. That's the hard part for me. I can't stay down for 5 hrs, much less 24..

Thanks everyone for the support. Been in bed most of the afternoon. The injections went without major incident. The needles triggered a major muscle spasm that hurt like hell even with the lydocaine injection. So far nothing has changed with my pinched nerve but it may take a couple days before i feel any different. Next set of injections are on the 17th.

I find that I hurt for about three days after my injections. My doctor told me it was a fluid dynamics problem. Since your nerves are already impinged, injecting fluid in there actually compresses things MORE and until the steroids get absorbed, you will be in more pain than normal. I am at that point again after 7 months and am going in next week for the same thing.

My wife has done this twice. They both helped, but the effects were rather short lived. It appears to be temporary relief only. Sorry to be a bummer.

You all are so encouraging, I think I'm just going to continue my lidocane patches and roll on "Stop Pain" Pain, Me have pain? What pain. Seriously, Jonathon I hope it helps you and you get some relief. I go to bed hurtin, get up hurtin, so yes I and apparently a lot of others understand and sympathize

Good Luck, I hope the injections work for you.

I had to get them about every four months, and they worked until about 2 years ago, (about the same time I switched insurance) now I'm stuck with constant pain, and a bunch of pain pills. So far I a can't get the insurance company to think about any surgery or any other options, I guess they make too much selling drugs...(Kaiser Sucks )

I hope your's works and you don't have to deal with the pain ever again.
