Rough couple of days in the shop. I have several orders to fill before we leave for a hunt/visit in Michigan and none of my signature blanks are holding together. Tried everything and just about the time I think "this one is looking great" pop! Off comes half the blank! Of course everyone wants the reclaimed spalted birch burl so I'm stuck holding my breath for the entire turning process. The topper is it's my fault......yep thought I'd play a bit with the stabilizing solution and "improve it"!

So could I get ya to send off a little mojo for the crazed Alaskan before he goes completely off the deep end?

PS I think I sent off old stock to a member as a gift so it should be good............I certainly hope so sure wish I could remember which member it was!

My Mojo seized up with the planer. Nothing is working right for me now either.

Advice from me: Stay away from 1) 60 degree live centers, 2) Super Glue, 3) Jointers, 4) Radial arm saws, 5) chain saws, 6) nuclear devices....DAMHIKT

Hmmmmm Completed a set of barrels and started assembly, with the transmission ring on backwards. OK popped apart without too much trouble.......how come the tip isn't sticking out of the nose cone?????.......Cause ya got Gent tubes on a Triton! OK shimmed the final and now I actually have a pen! OK its a change in my luck anyway!

If it makes you feel any better Rick, it happened to me too. You might want to try coating with CA as you turn it down. Even stabilized, that spalt is soft. Best of luck both with your order and, the hunt.

That is one of the tricks I normally apply Dalecamino..........Your going to love this. Ran out of CA at 5pm, I normally work till 8pm. I decided to do some cleaning and use the mini chuck to trim the ends of what I had so I have my hand on the mandrel taping gently with the push rod when it lets go and the back of my hand slams into the live center in the tail stock. Pierced the skin and a vein, blood everywhere and I have a hematoma the size of a grape on the back of my hand!

Last time I ask you guys for MOJO!

It always goes off the rails for me when I am working on a tight deadline with promised pens. That leads me to offer my existing stock and add a healthy upcharge for custom work.
