I am having some difficulty deciding on what wax to recommend for the after care of a pen I sell. I have usually finished with friction polish. Will paste wax dissolve the friction polish? Can I use shellwax cream?

Unfortunately, *reality* removes friction polish. I have used it before on pens that sat dormant for a month, that, one month later, looked like raw wood sanded real smooth.

I think some woods will absorb friction wax.. like RedfishSC, I've had some sit for a while and all shine disolved.. other are still as highly polished as when I finished them... I do know that if you get them wet, you can ruin a finish muyo pronto.. I got caught in a storm and all my pens got wet before I could get them packed away and I spent half the summer refinishing most of them... was a good time to convert to CA finish.

Russ,
I'm thinking you got it, I was using Briwax. it just acted like stripper, nice and clean.

Chuck,
I'm working on CA finish, i'm getting better
