I figure, out of all the members here, there's got to be a dermatologist or doctor or someone who knows about skin conditions. I have sebhoeric dermatitis on my face a little and my scalp, a lot. Its just driving me up the wall. Have already seen a dermatologist and have been using Nizoral shampoo and a cream called Daktacort for my face. It clears up on my face and flares back up but my scalp never changes.
I read about the different effects various wood dusts would have on your skin and found that Walnut dust can cause contact dermatitis. Just wondering if this is how it started. It only really came on in the last 4 years

All I know is that many of the more exotic woods we work with can cause reactions - either because of the oils in the wood or the fine particulate dust (or both). Black walnut (juglans nigra) contains juglone, which is known to cause problems.

My kid brother had that. It went away on its own when he hit his 20's. Nothing any doctor tried made a difference.

I'm sorry for you. I saw what it did to my bro and it broke my heart.

Its not too bad sometimes, but when it does flare up, especially on my face, i can feel my skin tighten, it gets sore and itchy and i'm just really conscious of it.

It used to really bug me but when i see people in worse cases than me I feel really bad for getting worked up over it. I don't know if its a hereditary thing but my sister has psoriasis and now her little one, 5, is starting to break out in it also. Seeing what it does to my sister, i just wish i could do something
