White Foam

Well I am an idiot since there are no pics, but, during a nice rain here in Houston this morning, I noticed a white foam on the side of one of my pine trees. It was about 2 1/2" wide by 12" long running down the side of the tree. About 2 foot off the ground. There is a bit of bark knocked off the tree is the area. A few pieces of the surface bark that is.

Anyone have any idea what it is or caused by?

Google 'foaming pine trees'. Seems to be a reaction to an injury.

apparently, you did not wait for the wood to dry (or even be cut down) before adding the alumilite....this is a normal reaction with the residual water in the trunk.....

Oh crap. Now I have to take the hypodermic needle and the IV of alumilite out of the tree. I think I will wait till it stops raining though.
