I'm looking to get a small table saw for cutting blanks. My main use will be doing segmenting, scallops, that kind of thing. I need a saw that will cut 3/4 wood and acrylic blanks and other thin material. Harbor Freight has a 4" but from rviews it sounds like a ... piece of junk. I don't really want a 10" ... does anyone make a 6" or 8" ? Any suggestions for a small table saw that would do this task? Thanks.

I have seen some precision hobby saws in that size, which would be great for what we do. I just can't see paying over $400 for one.

You should look at Byrnes small table saw. There are some members here who use them and really like them.

I found this on You Tude today but couldn't find anything about where to buy or a price. Just now with your info I found it but at $450 for the basic saw, plus lots more $$ for add-ons it's just not do-able. I'm thinking I'll opt for the HF 10" for around $140 less 20% coupon = $112. (if I can get a blabe with a thin kerf)

FWIW... details... http://www.byrnesmodelmachines.com/tablesaw.html

Do what I did, it takes some minor modification, but works good. I had a tile wet saw from Home Depot. And a 7 1/4 blade fits. The only thing is, there's no highth adjustment and made a sled that runs on the edge of the table.
