I've purchased thin sheets of metal from Hobby Lobby. If you cant get it from them, Google search.

I especially like to use Brass and Aluminum.

Pop cans work for aluminium and I have also been able to get brass and aluminium sheets at my local Ace Hardware.

Some say you can get them at Michaels craft store.

if you go to the hsrdware store, ask them for "shim" material.

Lowes or Home Depot has Aluminum flashing in 5 x 7 pieces in a pack of 100 for about $10

You can find it on-line from many places. One thing you can learn are properties of the different kinds of Aluminum, Brass, etc. There are several variations of each.

Another place is Hobby Town, or any dedicated store for RC cars & planes. They usually have AL & Brass sheets in multiple thicknesses.
