So today marks my last day as an employee. Thus ending my near 20 year run as working for someone and now time to work for me:biggrin:

OK so to fill you in, about a month and a half ago I purchased an EmbroidMe franchise (the largest embroidery / screen print / advertising products company) and since then I have been working on getting my store up and running. Well I am getting very close to closing my lease on a building, then I will be off to training and then the store will be open (if all goes well) in early June.

Anyway so after hearing how everyone is retiring, I wanted to share that I am just getting started and I am looking forward to the fun ride ahead of me:biggrin::biggrin:

Forget hobbies for a while!!

They say "Pay yourself first"--they LIE.
Put every nickle you earn back into the business, work 30 hour days 10 days a week and, after a couple years, you MAY be successful.

Bear in mind over 80% of new businesses FAIL in the first two years. (They paid themselves first).

Good luck and, if you are successful it is VERY rewarding for your self-esteem. I am told SOME folks have made great fortunes, as well. So far, I have no experience with that.

As they say, the harder I work, the luckier I get!!

Trust me I am well prepared for the chaos, as it took me about 10 months to finally reach my decision to go into business.

Granted I am not looking to make a great fortune, just a better living that what I am making now. I believe I finally have a shot to make my life the way I have been dreaming...I guess in that sense if I am able to succeed there then I will have my great fortune:biggrin:

I was once told by a very wise man, "Find a job you'll do for free, then find some damn fool to pay you to do it and you'll never have to work a day in your life." Congratulations and best wishes.

If you enjoy what you are doing, it's not work. Sometimes you need to "adjust your attitude" when you are missing activities you once enjoyed.

Yes, I wish you good fortune---but luck is usually found wherever you MAKE it. Go forth and MAKE yourself successful!!

Yes, I do have a strange way of saying "Good luck". Because I put little credence in "luck", and I would prefer to help you succeed!!!


Always remember there is a SURE FIRE WAY to make a small fortune!!!!!
(start with a large fortune and invest in your own business!)

Congratulations. I opened my own business in January and I think it is great that you are doing something that makes you happy. I work just as hard or harder then I did when I worked for my last job. But since it is all for my business I don't mind. I won't make as much as my last job for a year or so, but I certainly am having a good time, making nice money and seeing the results of my efforts, which prove that my ideas are correct and better for the patient.
I wish you the best and know that your efforts will make your "luck" and success.

I hope that you have the wind always at your back and blowing the direction you want to go in your new enterprise.

You aren't embarking on a life of ease --- it is not easy to run a business, but it can be rewarding at times.
