When I bought my last Hercus lathe, this came with all the bits and pieces.
Does any one know what it is?

This bit slides back and forth.

I don't have a clue what kind of tool it is but I know it's not a "Cattywampus". Cattywampus is the result of the misuse of a tool.

What I'd like to know is if you can still buy a NEW Hercus lathe.
I believe the company still exists but has changed its focus.
No serious research done by me ... just gleaning bits and pieces of info by reading sources like this:-

Could be more thing that I have heard of.

FW Hercus started in May 1920 stopped making lathes in 2001, I think.
They built about 23000 Hrecus 9", 260, and 10" South Bend GS26-075 ( at the request of south bend.)
Company still operating.
