between Alumite and the resin we get from Mr.Fiberglass??

I hear/see both used and it seems like users like both pretty much equally... what's the real difference ???

(I looked for this question, but no luck, so I'm askin')

If you live in the UK, the biggest difference is the price. My first attempts at casting was with Alumilite. I eventually got fantastically clear bubble free results. But at almost £40 ( $80 ) per litre, I just can't justify it for my hobby. I have just bought 5kg of resin ( I don't know why it comes in Kilo's ) for £38.
I have not tried it yet, but I know the resin is going to stink my house out. The Alumilite has almost no smell.

At the moment I have no preference, except for the price.

MrFiberGlass is PR (Rolyester Resin) and Alumilite is a Urethane based resin.

PR is mixed with hardener in a 1-oz:7-drops ratio; Alumilite is mixed 1:1.

PR stinks. Alumilite doesn't.

PR sets in hours, A in less than 5 minutes.

A is more expensive (but worth it according to those who use it (and not worth it according to those who don't)).

The one to ask is MesquiteMan. He uses Alumilite and swears by it. Like Greg mentioned, Alumilite has no oder and drys very fast. And costs more. I haven't used Alumilite, I just use PR. Only been casting for a short time, so don't have that much experience.
