What size dust pipe?

I would like to shift my dust extractor away from where I'm working most.
The extractor is a 2hp and 1490CFM, I'd like to move it outside into a leanto but it will be about 28' in pipe length plus 2 90 deg elbows and a T piece away from where it is used most. I have 3' of flexible 4" to hook upto the bandsaw/lathe collector, and about 5' flex. into a 12 gallon dust cyclone/dust extractor
What size pipe would be the best to run effectively. I've read all sorts of books on the subject but still can't come up with an answer.

Dust Collector

I'm guessing your collector has a 6" take-off at the intake manifold that probably splits into two 4" outlets. Run your pipe from the dust collector to the first take-off at 6", and from there you may drop down to 4" for the rest if a 6" pipe is impractical.
Keep the long run in rigid pipe with as few bends as possible, and then make each bend as gradual (in angle) as possible.
Keep in mind that with the collector outside, you're removing 1,500 CFM of air from the shop and more air has to come in from somewhere. Will you compromise you heating/cooling with this arrangement?
 
I enclosed a 12 X 12 area of my shop for turning. Then the dust collector noise became too much. Moved it outside the wall and enclosed it in small closet size space. Put two 6" air returns back into the turning shop near the floor. The dust collector is hooked to a solid 6" pipe which runs all around the turning shop outside wall.
 
Thanks everyone for their answers, it has been a great help. Heating and cooling are no problem as I don't have any, only a fan, I can cope with most weather conditions, from 40f - 105f. Not to often it gets below or above where I am. With a 12' lift up door I'm getting plenty of fresh air in.
