Evening,

Came across this on marketplace, haven't ever seen a lathe like it.. anyone know what make model, if it's Mt1 or 2?
Worth the $40.00 seller is asking as a dedicated pen only lathe? While having larger lathe set up for larger projects.

It is a off brand small lathe. there are many different lathes like this out there. No model number so makes no difference. It is a Shopcraft lathe. is it worh it? does it run? Looks like a very low speed range. Will it turn a pen absolutely A drill press will turn a pen. You see people doing vertical turning on a drill press. To me are you just starting? I think there are better options out there. It does not have a morse taper from what I see. Just a dead and live center setup.

Your third image shows it's a Shopcraft T6750.

Vintage Machinery has a post on this lathe:

The comment doesn't sound really great:
This little guy is the proud possession of Lawrence Oswald, who provided the photo. The lathe is suitable for turning porch columns, if you are making a dollhouse.
Larry reports that he paid $5 for this lathe, and feels somewhat ripped off.
Interesting article also on Vintage Machinery:

A search also turned up some guy on a Striper fishing forum that was selling one back in 2007. He was making fishing plugs on it.

Will probably be a lot more tinkering and headache than it's worth.

Thank you for the questions to ponder regarding what it can do and should consider other options

Thank you for helping me save time and money by not going to go see it in person
