What kind of burl

What kind of burl wood is this? My guess is big leave maple. I have been offered this chunk for $30. It about 11" x 17" x 2 1/2" thickness.

I haven't bought wood in a few years. Do you think it is worth $30?

You'll have some waste, but I don't think that's a bad price.
Funny, the grain in the first pic looks like big leaf, but the second one
reminds me more of mallee.

yup I'd pay $30 for it.
looks like it would make a nice winged bowl.

Looks like Black Ash to me....I would buy it in a heart beat...but then again I have a buying problem....Just remember the one who dies with the most wood in their shop wins.....
