What is the PITH? Understandably, newer turners and/or IAP members might not know. Let's start here: PITH=Pen in the hat. In a perfect world we would all get together and place a pen in the hat. Each member would reach in and select a pen at random to become there own. Now while not geographically feasible to all meet, next best thing is what we are doing. Everyone who signs up will be assigned to send someone else a pen. In return, they will receive a pen from someone else. That is it in a "nutshell". I hope that clears things up. Feel free to PM me with specific questions if you are still unsure.


 
Kinda like the old Put-numbers-in-a-hat-and-draw-a-number thing...in this case we do names from a random digital hat and (or maybe a real one!) and there ya go!
 
WOW I'm glad he asked. I was wondering the same thing. I thought it was some kind of contest. It does sound fun. I guess the next question is where will everyone be notified of the next PITH. Will it be on the Casual Conversation Thread or elsewhere. Thanks for the information. Kenny. P.S. I've only been here a few months.
 
all i can say is you have to try it the next time around. i think i'm on my third now. was really scared of the first one but now look forward to them. and to answer the other question. if you are a regular here. you will hear about the next one, no need to look for it. but if memory serves me correctly i think there is usually a link on the home page as well when they are started.

I will say that next time sign up if at all possible. It makes you want to try different things and you get a pen from someone who does and makes things different than you. Ot's a good way to stretch your horizons.
